Review: Supergirl Season 1 Episode 2 "Stronger Together"

EPISODE SUMMARY:

When Kara’s attempts to help National City don't go according to plan, she must put aside the doubts that she -- and the city's media -- has about her abilities in order to capture an escapee from the Kryptonian prison, Fort Rozz. Also, Cat pressures James to use his connection to Superman to get her an interview with Supergirl.

RATING:★★★✩✩ Very Good!

It just seems like everything that could go wrong does in this episode. Kara is really torn down and feeling like she can't do anything right. But that turns around when she realizes that she can't do it all alone. She remembers her family's motto and asks for the help she needs. One of my favorite moments of this episode was when she got together with Winn and James to take on smaller crimes as practice for her taking on bigger ones in the future. It was hilarious when the "Fluffy" stuck in a tree that Supergirl saved turned out to be a snake and not a cat. Kara's fight with her aunt Astra was pretty cool and she definitely proved her strength against her. I really want to know what Astra is planning for National City. One moment she makes you believe that she wants to protect it and the next she shows herself to be the villain she is. I loved Alex's gift to Kara, creating a room similiar to Superman's Fortress. The feels were there during that scene. And what is up with Hank? He has glowing red eyes!

The only thing that I didn't necessarily like was how Kara was kind of mopey and full of self-pity. It made her seem really immature in some situations. I know that she wants to be out all out there and gung-ho about saving the city, but everyone has to start somewhere, and that's usually at the bottom.
